“Life is so simple when you’re on your deathbed,” says Patrick Ney.
After surviving a traumatic blow to the head on the streets of Warsaw, the native Brit took to video to tell the stories of Poland’s World War II heroes.
Patrick and his videos gained huge popularity in his adopted country, but it also drained him emotionally.
“Filming is a two-way street. You give a lot of yourself when you’re standing in front of the camera, at minus 20, in Auschwitz,” he says. “It draws an immense amount of energy.”
So he took a break from reporting on war heroes. That’s when the host of Heart of Poland realized the country, and the world, has everyday heroes everywhere.
Patrick offers us his keys to gaining success in telling stories with video, and it’s amazingly simple.
